Our Story
From Rural Challenges to Rural Transformation

The journey of UDGI Foundation began long before its official registration. Its founder, Sonu Singh, has been actively involved in social work since 2016 after completing his 12th standard education. Driven by a desire to support underserved communities, he worked at the grassroots level, helping students, youth, women, and rural families access opportunities for growth and development.

During the COVID-19 pandemic (2020–2022), rural communities faced unprecedented challenges. Schools remained closed, healthcare services became difficult to access, livelihoods were disrupted, and the digital divide became more visible than ever. Witnessing these challenges firsthand while pursuing his MCA, Sonu Singh, along with a group of young social workers and CSC VLE (Common Service Centre) friends from his native region, came together with a shared vision to create sustainable solutions for rural India.

This vision led to the establishment of UDGI Foundation (Udaan Digital Generation India Foundation), which was officially registered in May 2022. The organization was founded with the mission of empowering communities through Quality Education, Healthcare Access, Skill Development, Digital Literacy, Women Empowerment, Livelihood Promotion, and Environmental Sustainability.

Since its inception, UDGI Foundation has worked to strengthen grassroots institutions and support key stakeholders, including Schools, Gram Panchayats, CSC VLEs, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Farmers, Youth, Students, and economically disadvantaged families. Through community-driven initiatives, partnerships, and innovative programs, the Foundation strives to bridge gaps in education, technology, healthcare, and economic opportunities.

Today, UDGI Foundation continues its journey with a commitment to building an inclusive, digitally empowered, and self-reliant India, where every individual has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
