Stree Swabhiman – Dignity for Every Woman

Stree Swabhimaan
Empowering Women with Dignity & Opportunity

Every woman deserves the chance to shape her own life, to contribute, to lead — not just to survive. Yet for many in rural and underserved regions, barriers like lack of skills, social constraints, limited livelihood options and low health-awareness hold her back.
At UDGI Foundation, our “Stree Swabhimaan” initiative is rooted in the belief that true progress comes when women are equipped, respected and financially independent.

Under the “Stree Swabhimaan – Women Skills & Livelihood” programme, we strive to:

Lift women from vulnerability into economic empowerment

Build sustainable livelihoods that they own and manage

Enhance health, hygiene and wellbeing so that work, life and learning go hand in hand

Create ecosystems in which women are not just participants — but leaders of change

Our
Mission

1.Reproductive & Child Health

Reproductive & Child Health is the pilot initiative of Stree Swabhiman aimed at providing basic primary healthcare, addressing issues of pregnancy, newborn and child health, and facilitating access to public and private health facilities

2. Nutrition Enhancement

Studies have shown that a child's health in their first 1,000 days of life is critical as it influences their development in childhood as well as adulthood. Hence, it becomes imperative to ensure healthy pregnancy and healthy mothers and children.

3. Entrepreneurship Development

Entrepreneurship and skill development training is provided to women who are running low scale businesses with limited means in urban slums and rural areas

4. Digital Financial Literacy

Financial literacy sessions and life skill training are held to ensure the economic empowerment of women by making them aware of banking, investment, and financial security, and helping them make informed choices in all spheres of life.

5. Govt. Convergence & System Strengthing

One of the major interventions under Swabhiman programme is networking with government institutions to enhance community awareness and help increase the uptake of govt. welfare schemes & policies

6. Sustainability in Communities

Stree Swabhiman works with not just the women, but their families, the community, and various other stakeholders to bring long-lasting behavioral changes that help create a supportive environment for women
