Sambhal, July 2024: The UDGI Foundation, in collaboration with Renu Kiran Welfare Foundation and Goonj, has successfully conducted a sanitary pad distribution drive in government schools across Sambhal. This initiative aims to promote menstrual hygiene management and create awareness about the importance of menstrual health among young girls.
During the event, UDGI Foundation, with the support of Renu Kiran Welfare Foundation, distributed sanitary pads to female students, ensuring that they have access to the essential hygiene products they need to manage their menstrual health effectively. Goonj, a well-known organization that focuses on rural development and menstrual health awareness, provided significant support to make this drive a success.
The initiative was part of UDGI Foundation’s ongoing commitment to improving women’s health and empowerment through access to critical resources and awareness programs. During the distribution, team members also educated the students on menstrual health, addressing myths and encouraging open dialogue on this often-taboo topic.
“Our goal is to ensure that every young girl feels comfortable and confident during her menstrual cycle,” said Sonu Singh, CEO of UDGI Foundation. “We are grateful to Renu Kiran Welfare Foundation and Goonj for their collaboration and support, which has helped us reach many young girls in need.”
This joint effort is a step forward in ensuring better menstrual hygiene and breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation. By providing the resources and education that young girls need, UDGI Foundation and its partners are working towards creating a healthier, more informed, and empowered future generation.
