On November 14, 2024, the UDGI Foundation team was delighted to join forces with Amazon India and Goodera in an inspiring volunteer event at Amazon’s Noida office. Marking an impactful milestone in our mission for community wellness, this event focused on the creation and distribution of ‘Nutritional Educards’ to promote essential health knowledge among underserved communities. A Day of Purposeful Volunteering
The event was packed with energy as 50 dedicated volunteers from Amazon and UDGI Foundation came together to make a difference. The Nutritional Educards event aimed to raise awareness about healthy food choices, balanced diets, and the nutritional needs critical to children’s and families’ wellbeing. Through this initiative, our team was able to create 500 assets – engaging, educational cards – that will serve as a valuable resource for communities to understand the basics of nutrition and make informed health decisions.
Why Nutrition Education Matters
In many underserved communities, access to information about nutrition is limited. Proper nutrition is a key building block for health, especially among children, as it directly impacts physical and mental development. Yet, many people remain unaware of what constitutes a balanced diet, the role of different nutrients, and how to integrate nutritious foods into daily meals on a budget.
