WHY DISASTER RESPONSE
- Being a disaster-prone country, India is highly vulnerable to various types of natural calamities due to its geographical positioning. According to the National Disaster Management Authority, Govt. of India, more than 58.6% of the country’s landmass is prone to earthquakes and over 12% is prone to floods; close to 5,700kms out of the 7,516kms long coastline is prone to cyclones and tsunamis; while 68% of its cultivable area is prone to droughts which is why disaster preparedness is of outmost importance.
- Disaster risks in India are further compounded by increasing vulnerabilities related to changing demographics, socio-economic conditions- unplanned urbanization, development within high-risk zones, environmental degradation, climate change, and epidemics and pandemics. All these factors have created a situation where disasters seriously threaten the sustainable development of the country, besides innumerable lives and livelihoods.
Disaster Response – UDGI Foundation
At UDGI Foundation, we believe in standing with communities during their most challenging times. Our Disaster Response initiative is dedicated to providing immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation support in the wake of natural and man-made disasters. We mobilize resources, volunteers, and strategic partnerships to ensure quick and effective assistance to affected populations.

Rapid Relief Mission
Emergency Relief & Aid Distribution When disasters strike, we mobilize teams to provide immediate assistance, including: ✅ Food & Water Distribution – Providing cooked meals and clean drinking water. ✅ Essential Supplies – Distributing blankets, hygiene kits, clothes, and emergency medicines. ✅ Shelter Assistance – Setting up temporary shelters for displaced families.
Swasthya Sewa Camps
Medical Assistance & Healthcare Support We organize emergency medical camps in disaster-affected areas to prevent the spread of diseases and provide medical aid. 📌 Key Activities: 🩺 Mobile health check-ups and free medicines. 🚑 Deployment of ambulances for critical cases. 🦠 Awareness campaigns on post-disaster health risks. Recent Interventions: COVID-19 relief efforts, including vaccination drives in rural areas.
Rebuild India Initiative
Rehabilitation & Livelihood Support Once immediate relief is provided, we help communities rebuild their homes, schools, and livelihoods. 🏗️ Key Focus Areas: 🏠 Reconstruction of schools and community centers. 💼 Skill training programs for employment generation. 🌾 Support for farmers to restore agriculture after floods and droughts.
Disaster Preparedness & Awareness Drive
Training & Capacity Building for Future Resilience Prevention is key to reducing disaster impact. We conduct awareness programs and workshops to train communities on disaster preparedness. 🎯 What We Do: 🛑 First-aid and emergency response training. 🔥 Fire safety and evacuation drills. 🌊 Flood and earthquake preparedness education. Impact So Far: 1,000+ individuals trained in disaster response strategies. School awareness campaigns in flood-prone and earthquake-sensitive areas.

Our Green Recovery Program focuses on long-term environmental solutions. 🌿 Core Activities: 🌱 Plantation drives to prevent soil erosion in flood-prone areas. 💡 Promoting solar energy solutions in disaster-affected regions. ♻️ Waste management and eco-friendly reconstruction efforts. Notable Projects: Plastic-Free Village Initiative to reduce environmental hazards. Solar Lamp Distribution in Moradabad & Amroha (in partnership with Goodera).
