Sonu Singh – Social Entrepreneur | Founder, UDGI Foundation | CSC VLE | Community Leader Educational Background: Sonu Singh holds a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree from IFTM University. With a strong academic foundation in technology and digital systems, Sonu has channelled his knowledge toward grassroots digital empowerment, skilling, and social development across rural India. Professional Journey: Sonu began his journey as a CSC (Common Services Center) Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE) in 2015. Since then, he has actively contributed to the Digital India Mission by delivering essential digital services, financial literacy, and government welfare schemes at the village level. He is also a member of the CSC VLE Society, Moradabad, and has taken leadership roles in coordinating large-scale community initiatives. Key Projects & Initiatives: 1. Village-Sarthi Project (In Partnership with Shivam Kumar): A visionary initiative designed to empower Self Help Groups (SHGs) by establishing a rural retail chain of daily-use consumer products. The project strengthens local women’s economic participation by enabling them to run and manage micro-retail units. Recognized as a “Good Initiative” by NITI Aayog, the project is now a model for rural entrepreneurship and SHG-led economic development. 2. Work with CSC Academy: As a Block-Level CSC Academy Coordinator, Sonu has successfully implemented a wide range of projects under CSC Academy and other CSR umbrellas: Mission Corona Vijay (COVID-19 awareness and relief) CSC-UNICEF Projects: Including COVID Awareness Campaigns, and the P2E (Pathways to Empowerment) Project on financial and digital literacy for rural youth and women. NDLM (National Digital Literacy Mission) and PMGDISHA (Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan) for building digital capacity in rural populations. UNICEF Child Awareness Campaigns on health, hygiene, and education. 7th Economic Survey (Government of India): Served as a Survey Supervisor, managing over 1 lakh household enumerations in the Moradabad district with a team of trained surveyors. Trained over 35 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) under CSC Academy’s Data Entry Operator Skilling Program. Established and operates CSC Bal Vidyalaya for early childhood education (LKG and UKG) to promote foundational learning in rural children. 3. UDGI Foundation (Founder & Director): Under his leadership, UDGI Foundation has launched several transformative initiatives in education, health, and empowerment. These include: UDGI Pathshala – A supplementary learning program for underprivileged school children. UDGI Academy – A career and skills training wing for youth and women. Vidhyanjali Program – Engaging volunteers and educators in enhancing school education. Menstrual Health Management (MHM) – Awareness and distribution of sanitary products to adolescent girls and women. Environment & Save Earth Campaigns – Focused on sustainability, tree plantation, and zero-plastic drives. TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan – Awareness and support campaign to eradicate tuberculosis in rural areas. P2E Program (with B-Able Foundation) – Providing digital and life skills to young women and enabling them to become community digital educators and entrepreneurs. Partnerships & Collaborations: Sonu Singh has successfully collaborated with various national and international organizations, CSR bodies, and government departments.
