💻 UDGI Digital-Sakhi Project
The Digital-Sakhi Project by UDGI Foundation is a women-led digital entrepreneurship initiative that trains and supports rural women to become BC Sakhis (Banking Correspondents), CSC Operators, and Digital Service Providers in their own villages.
It aims to promote financial inclusion, digital empowerment, and livelihood opportunities for women by turning them into local digital leaders.
Through training, handholding, and startup kits, the project builds a network of digitally skilled women entrepreneurs.
These Digital Sakhis become trusted points for banking, bill payments, digital literacy, and e-governance services in rural areas.
Why Digital-Sakhi
In rural India, women often have limited income opportunities and little exposure to digital tools or formal banking systems.
At the same time, rural areas lack access to doorstep banking, digital payments, and government service centers.
Training women as Digital Sakhis not only improves their income and confidence, but also brings essential services closer to the people.
This project ensures that “where there is a woman, there is digital access”—promoting both gender equality and digital inclusion.
🔹 Main Focus Areas
BC Sakhi Training – Prepare women to offer doorstep banking, money transfer, and withdrawal services.
CSC Center Support – Help women open Common Service Centers to deliver e-governance services locally.
Digital Entrepreneurship – Teach women to use digital tools for business, payments, and customer services.
Financial & Digital Literacy – Build understanding of savings, loans, UPI, apps, and cyber safety.
Self-Reliance & Income Generation – Enable women to earn sustainable livelihoods from their own villages.

How the Digital-Sakhi Works
UDGI Foundation identifies and trains rural women (18–40 years) who are motivated to start digital service work in their communities.
Each woman is given practical training in banking services, digital tools, e-services, financial literacy, and customer handling.
They are supported with connections to banks, CSC networks, and government schemes, along with basic tech kits if needed.
Ongoing mentoring, visibility in the village, and performance monitoring ensure that each Digital Sakhi grows her reach and income.
🔸 Key Activity Areas
Mobilization & Selection – Identify and enroll interested women from SHGs, villages, and youth groups.
Skill-Based Training – Provide hands-on training in banking, Aadhaar-enabled payment systems, and service delivery.
Tech Kit Distribution – Provide basic devices like smartphones, biometric devices, or laptops as per the model.
Linkage with Banks & CSC – Connect trained women with banks or CSC registration to begin operations.
Visibility & Promotion – Support women in setting up centers, branding, and awareness in their community.
Income Tracking & Support – Monitor progress, earnings, and customer satisfaction regularly.
