EqualSTEM

EqualSTEM

EqualSTEM is a flagship initiative by UDGI Foundation aimed at bridging the digital and scientific divide among rural school students. We believe that every child, regardless of geography or economic status, deserves equal access to quality STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education.

Our mission is to foster curiosity, build problem-solving skills, and develop future innovators from rural and underserved communities across India.

Why EqualSTEM

Despite the growth in digital learning and technology, millions of rural children in India still lack access to basic STEM education.
Hereโ€™s why we launched EqualSTEM:

  • Lack of Labs & Resources: Most rural schools lack science labs, computers, internet, and experiential learning tools.

  • Limited Exposure: Students are unaware of career paths in science, engineering, and technology.

  • Outdated Teaching Methods: Theoretical and rote learning dominate, leaving little room for innovation and application.

  • STEM = Future: STEM is essential for preparing youth for the jobs of tomorrow โ€“ AI, clean energy, robotics, biotech, and more.

EqualSTEM exists to change this reality, starting at the grassroots level.

How EqualSTEM Works

We follow a hands-on, inclusive, and localized approach to deliver STEM education in rural areas:

๐Ÿงช 1. STEM-on-Wheels / Mobile Labs

A van converted into a moving lab reaches remote villages with science kits, robotics tools, solar models, microscopes, and more.

๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿซ 2. STEM Fellows & Local Teachers

We train rural youth and local educators in practical STEM pedagogy and deploy them as EqualSTEM Fellows to schools and learning centers.

๐Ÿง  3. Concept-to-Application Curriculum

Our bilingual (Hindi-English) curriculum is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and focuses on:

  • Inquiry-based learning

  • Real-world problem solving

  • Innovation challenges and science fairs

๐Ÿ’ป 4. Digital & Offline Modules

No internet? No problem. We provide:

  • Preloaded tablets

  • Offline smart projectors

  • Interactive printed STEM workbooks

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿš€ 5. Exposure & Mentorship

Students interact with:

  • Scientists and engineers

  • STEM role models from their own region

  • Virtual lab visits and DIY home experiments
