Health and Nutrition Program

🩺 UDGI FOUNDATION – Health and Nutrition Program

The Health and Nutrition Program by UDGI Foundation aims to improve the well-being of rural and underserved communities—especially women, children, and adolescents—by providing essential health education, basic medical support, and nutrition awareness. The program addresses key issues such as malnutrition, menstrual health, hygiene, anaemia, maternal care, and access to government health schemes.

Through awareness camps, school-based sessions, health check-ups, and distribution drives, the initiative promotes healthy lifestyles, preventive care, and informed decision-making at the grassroots level.

Why HNP

UDGI Foundation’s Health and Nutrition Program was launched to tackle the widespread issues of malnutrition, hygiene gaps, and health unawareness in rural communities.
Poor health directly affects children’s learning, women’s well-being, and the overall development of a village.
Lack of access to basic health knowledge, taboos around menstruation, and weak nutrition among schoolchildren are major concerns.
Through this program, we aim to build healthier communities by promoting preventive care, awareness, and early support.

🔹 Main Focus Areas

  1. Child Nutrition Awareness – Educating parents and students on balanced diet and malnutrition prevention.

  2. Menstrual Health Education – Guiding adolescent girls on menstrual hygiene, breaking taboos, and pad usage.

  3. Basic Health & Hygiene – Promoting handwashing, personal hygiene, and sanitation habits.

  4. Women’s Wellness Support – Conducting sessions on maternal health, anaemia, and reproductive care.

  5. Access to Government Schemes – Helping families connect with public health services and welfare benefits.

How HNP Works

UDGI Foundation runs the Health and Nutrition Program through schools, villages, and community networks.
We organize awareness sessions, health check-ups, and provide essential support like sanitary pads, nutrition kits, and counselling.
Local volunteers, health educators, and female trainers lead the program to ensure trust and easy communication.
Our model is low-cost, community-driven, and focused on prevention, care, and behavioral change.
